I have always been a picky eater but of course it has gotten better. It is not to be stubborn; I just do Not like certain foods and want nothing to do with them. I have been reading the science behind it and glad there is research on it. Some eating situations can be very stressful and I will try to avoid or hide it, if possible. Many times I would rather not eat, than eat something that is unappealing. If I could change this issue, I would in a minute, it is embarrassing. I am 58 now and I know it is not going to change. I am glad there are others that understand! I know my mother does not. I never " made" my own children eat things they did not like- it doesn't work. Encourage tasting - yes, force it no.
