I am 23 years old and my whole life I have struggled with picky eating. Trying new foods and adding the healthy ones I already eat is where I have issues. I feel like yeah I eat a lot of healthy foods but do I really eat them? No. Rarely. I want to be a foodie. I want to love and enjoy food. But can I? No. Does anyone have any ideas? I mean I have been to hypnotists, therapists, nutritionists etc...is it really just all about will power or is there a real way to combat this? I cant live on cheese and bread forever. I want to live a long healthy life. Help!!!!

Well I just turned 70 and I'm still kicking. I'm the pickiest of the picky. My diet is about as limited as you can get. Your eating probably won't kill you if you are smart and get checks to make sure your not deficient on important vitamins and nutrients through blood tests. If you are deficient there are ways to treat it. Many that I have heard from who learn to eat lots of new foods are not foodies. They can eat more choices but do they ever love the new things. I suppose some have but many do not love the new foods. While your picky eating can ruin your social life if you let it. There is no real reason why you can't have a long happy life no matter what you eat. In life there are things a person can get that are way worse than the struggles we have with food. Bob K
