Hi there my name is April and I have been a very picky eater my entire 36 years of life! I hate cooking because the majority of the time I gag. I eat some meat however, I cannot cook it or watch it being cooked. At times I will prepare chicken for my husband in the crock-pot, but I wear nitrile gloves and also use tongs. I will breathe through my mouth not to smell the raw chicken. If I make any meat, not only will I not eat it, I am too grossed out to eat anything. I enjoy the smell of cooked chicken but the taste is not as enjoyable. I can eat hamburgers, some steak if it is cut so there is no fat. If I take one bite and it has gristle, I will not eat the rest of my meal. I love Mexican food because of all the spices and sauces that cover up the taste of most meat. I will eat vegetables but will not eat asparagus, squash, zucchini and others I can’t think of right now. I do not eat eggs or any seafood. When I was a kid my dad would go hunting and butcher the Elk right in front of me. I do not understand how people can kill an animal, butcher it and also eat it. I enjoyed my dad’s cooking as a kid however, I never knew what I was actually eating. Could be beef but more than likely it was Elk meat. I travel regularly for work with my team, and I am the only one that has issues with food. They always want me to pick restaurants because they can never figure out what it is I like and don’t like. I eat pasta’s without meat, I love fruit almost all. I love sweets as in candy, cake and chocolate to name a few. My husband will try anything once and believes I should to. He thinks I am absolutely ridiculous! My kids are picky also. My son, 4 years old will eat more foods that I will not but is still very selective. My daughter the same but she doesn’t like vegetables at all. I wish I could get myself to try new foods because I hate when people ask “What do you eat?” I am humbled to know there are more people like me.
